Long-term mortgage interest rates held steady Tuesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield dipped to 4.4 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average stayed at 5.94 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate froze at 5.56 percent. The 1-year adjustable was up at 5.71 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield stayed at 4.69 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 109.26 points, or 0.81 percent, finishing at 13,676.23. The Nasdaq was up 45.33 points, or 1.65 percent, closing at 2,799.26.
