Real estate rates climb overnight

Long-term mortgage interest rates increased Monday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield held at 4.46 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate average climbed to 6.02 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate increased to 5.7 percent. The 1-year adjustable also increased to 5.65 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield was down at 4.7 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.

In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 39.1 points, or 0.29 percent, finishing at 13,403.42. The Nasdaq lost 20.52 points, or 0.79 percent, closing at 2,581.66.
