Long-term mortgage interest rates continued higher Tuesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield gained to 4.55 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average rose to 6.12 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate gained to 5.79 percent. The 1-year adjustable edged up to 6.03 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield was up at 4.83 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 91.12 points, or 0.68 percent, finishing at 13,448.86. The Nasdaq gained 33.88 points, or 1.3 percent, closing at 2,630.24.
