Agents get more Web site options

As more real estate agents turn their attention to beefing up their Web presence, two of the industry’s most recognized names in online real estate this week launched agent Web site products that incorporate IDX listings feeds of available properties.

Realtor.com has launched “Featured Website,” which creates a site for an agent and incorporates listings, local community information, map-based comparisons of recently sold homes, a blog section where agents potentially can interact with prospective clients, and a calendar of open house events.

Certain features of the sites can be integrated into the Realtor.com portal. For instance, when an agent enhances his or her listings at Realtor.com the changes can automatically appear on the agent’s individual Web site, the company said.

Realtor.com is operated by Move Inc., and is the official site of the National Association of Realtors.

Meanwhile, HouseValues this week launched a new suite of Web marketing tools for agents, including personal IDX sites that can automatically display all of the home listings in an agent’s market alongside neighborhood details.

The HouseValues sites, which the company says are free to its current customers, also include click-to-call technology that connects agents to prospective clients via phone.

HouseValues says it will send home listings to popular search engines and classified listings sites, including Google, Oodle, Trulia and others. The company also offers Web marketing training for agents to learn techniques in gaining traffic to their sites.

HouseValues operates a network of real estate sites, including HouseValues.com, HomePages.com and JustListed.com, among other products and services.
