Long-term mortgage interest rates were down again Thursday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield dropped to 4.6 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average slid to 5.7 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate sank to 5.47 percent. The 1-year adjustable was up slightly at 5.32 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield declined to 4.71 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 6.17 points, or 0.05 percent, finishing at 12,480.69. The Nasdaq was up 30.27 points, or 1.25 percent, closing at 2,453.43.
