Weichert Companies has acquired a relocation company that was owned by Paxton Van Lines, according to an announcement today.
Weichert Relocation Resources Inc. announced that Corporate Relocation Services was acquired by an affiliated Weichert company. C.R.S., which provides relocation programs to government agencies and corporate clients, will remain a separate legal entity, ensuring consistency and continuity of service for its existing clients.
“The acquisition accelerates Weichert’s diversification into the government market segment, a move which is expected to drive significantly increased revenues and profits,” the company announced.
Aram Minnetian, president of Weichert Relocation Resources Inc., said in a statement, “With C.R.S. as part of the Weichert Family of Companies, we will now be able to serve the government mobility market segment.” He said the company has a focus on four relocation market segments: corporate, human resource outsourcing, government and consumer retail.
John Paxton, president of C.R.S., said in a statement, “Client service and management teams will remain intact. But we’ll now have access to greater capital to grow our business, and a greater depth of one-stop shopping solutions through the Weichert Family of Companies.”
Weichert operations include Weichert, Realtors; Weichert Financial Services; Weichert Commercial Brokerage; Weichert Corporate Housing and Weichert Relocation Resources Inc.
Paxton Van Lines, the former parent company of C.R.S., is an authorized agent of Atlas Van Lines, a household goods carrier. Paxton Van Lines has offices in Springfield, Va.; Richmond, Va.; Charlotte, N.C.; London, England; Kabul, Afghanistan; and Baghdad, Iraq.
