Trulia Inc., a real estate search-engine company, has announced partnerships to display property listings represented by GMAC Real Estate’s company-owned offices and ERA Real Estate offices.
GMAC Real Estate is the fourth-largest brokerage firm in the nation. In addition to partnering with the company to display its property listings at Trulia.com, GMAC Real Estate “is further recommending that its franchisees work with Trulia to gain greater online distribution for their listings,” according to the announcement.
Lane Barnett, president and CEO of GMAC Real Estate’s franchise division, said in a statement, “We are encouraging all GMAC Real Estate franchisees to work with Trulia as well to maximize their return on online marketing activities, transfer less efficient offline marketing dollars to online, and save money.”
GMAC Real Estate has about 1,300 franchised and owned residential real estate offices in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Through the agreement with GMAC’s company-owned real estate operations, Trulia will post information on about 7,000 of the company’s property listings on its Web site.
Trulia also announced a test marketing agreement with ERA Real Estate through which consumers can view information on about 76,000 ERA-represented properties at the Trulia.com site.
Trulia.com serves as a portal for property listings that directs consumers to broker and agent Web sites for more detailed information about properties. “Over the last four months, Trulia has experienced 50 percent month-over-month growth in average number of unique visitors per month,” according to a company announcement.
Brenda W. Casserly, president and CEO of ERA Real Estate, said in a statement that Trulia helps the company promote franchisees’ listings by driving traffic to the ERA.com Web site.
