Long-term mortgage interest rates were mostly flat again Monday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield inched up to 4.98 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average held at 6.18 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate inched up to 5.88 percent. The 1-year adjustable was unchanged at 5.25 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 99.34 points, or 0.91 percent, finishing at 10,792.58. The Nasdaq fell 43.74 points, or 2.05 percent, closing at 2,091.32.
