Seattle-based John L. Scott Real Estate on Tuesday will launch new home search functionality to its Web site powered by Microsoft’s Virtual Earth platform, the brokerage company said today.
Visitors to JohnLScott.com will be able to use aerial imagery and interactive mapping features to look for homes. The imagery includes a 45-degree view of every home for sale in the greater Seattle area, the company said.
“The creation of High-Definition Home Search will revolutionize the real estate industry and how consumers look for homes,” said J. Lennox Scott, chairman and CEO of John L. Scott Real Estate. “By utilizing Microsoft’s Virtual Earth platform, visitors to JohnLScott.com will have the ability to immerse themselves in a simulated 3-D environment through the use of high-resolution imagery. Simply put, this is the quickest and easiest way to find a home.”
John L. Scott joins other real estate companies and Web sites that have incorporated aerial imagery and interactive mapping into home searches. Zillow.com, the home-valuation service launched in February by Expedia founder Richard Barton, also offers Microsoft’s Virtual Earth to help consumers scope out homes.
John L. Scott Real Estate, founded in 1931, today has 132 offices and more than 4,500 sales associates located throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
