Long-term mortgage interest rates moved higher Tuesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield slipped to 5.11 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average gained to 6.15 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate inched up to 5.82 percent. The 1-year adjustable held at 5.25 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield sank to 5.21 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 73.16 points, or 0.64 percent, finishing at 11,416.45. The Nasdaq rose 5.05 points, or 0.22 percent, closing at 2,309.84.
