Long-term mortgage interest rates gained on Wednesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield rose to 5.02 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average increased to 6.1 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate was up at 5.78 percent. The 1-year adjustable held at 5.18 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield jumped to 5.12 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 10 points, or 0.09 percent, finishing at 11,278.77. The Nasdaq was up 14.74 points, or 0.63 percent, closing at 2,370.88.
