Long-term mortgage interest rates inched higher on Friday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield increased to 4.98 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average edged up to 6.03 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate increased to 5.72 percent. The 1-year adjustable also increased to 5.12 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield climbed to 5.05 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 96.46 points, or 0.86 percent, finishing at 11,120.04. The Nasdaq lost 22.15 points, or 0.94 percent, closing at 2,339.02.
