The Woodmont Co. recently arranged a lease for Academy Sports and Outdoors to occupy 75,000 square feet of retail space in Sherman, Texas.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
The space is located in the Sherman Commons Shopping Center at NEC Highway 75 and Loy Lake Road. This Academy Sports and Outdoors store is expected to open in the fall of 2006.
The Sherman Commons development is expected to be approximately 40 acres, Woodmont officials said.
“What Woodmont hopes to accomplish in Sherman is to create a new development of class A shopping. The Sherman market is hot right now. The dramatic increase of businesses flowing into Sherman makes it a superb location,” said Carol W. Bracken, Woodmont’s president of investment services.
The Woodmont Co. is a Fort Worth, Texas-based commercial real estate investment and brokerage firm.
