Court Lorenzini has a broad understanding of the challenges facing the real estate industry as it evolves to a paperless process.
As CEO and co-founder of DocuSign, an on-demand document signing service, Lorenzini has been on the front lines of the paperless transaction progression.
DocuSign has deep roots in the real estate and mortgage industries and is an accepted standard electronic signature for many of the industry’s transaction management systems.
Lorenzini will speak during Real Estate Connect in New York City, Jan. 11-13, 2006.
Here are his answers to a set of questions posed by Inman News:
Panel or session at Connect: The Tipping Point: Achieving the Paperless Breakthrough.
What kind of house did you grow up in and where?
I grew up in a converted carriage house on an old estate in northern California.
What style of home do you live in today and when did you buy it?
My family lives in a ranch style house with a daylight basement built in 1960. The one distinguishing element is that we have a fully functional bomb shelter in our basement, complete with air filter, water supply and escape tunnel.
What worries keep you awake at night?
Keeping up with all the demand from our customers.
What lesson did you learn in the last year?
Remain patient. As a CEO, my most important job is providing clarity of focus and culture.
What was your first job?
I was an apprentice in an upholstery shop at age 14.
Which daily newspaper do you read and which section do you read first?
New York Times, business and technology sections.
Where did you spend your last vacation?
Hawaii.
What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
Building the team at DocuSign.
What is your favorite technology device?
My Audiovox SMT5600 cell phone. I use it for everything, including listening to audio books.
