Orbit Drop Inc., a drop-off store that sells its customers’ items on the eBay auction Web site, announced today that its franchises have entered the real estate sales market.
“Orbit Drop has listed mountain vacation homes and plans to expand its real estate sales market,” the company announced.
“Real estate is a unique sales item for the eBay resale franchise stores. It brings great revenue as well as recognition to our brand. The eBay drop-off market is always expanding. We are proud of our ability to train our franchisees to move into these new markets and are delighted in their increased revenue,” said Marisa Wolfcale, retail sales vice president for Orbit Drop.
Orbit Drop has locations in California, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas.
The company charges a listing fee of $200 and a finale sale fee of $250 for handling a 30-day eBay listing of timeshares, land and manufactured homes. For a 30-day eBay listing of residential, commercial and other real estate, Orbit Drop’s listing fee is $500 and there is no fee on the final sale. When a reserve price is set for real estate, the company charges 1 percent of the reserve price up to $100.
Items must have a minimum sale value of $50 as established by the company, according to a Web site description.
The company also lists motorcycles and cars for sale on eBay, and is currently handling its third estate liquidation.
