First American launches new division

The First American Corp. has launched a new division that will focus on multiple listing service technology for the real estate industry, the corporation announced today, in line with its strategy to provide end-to-end services for closing a real estate transaction.

First American MLS Solutions will be a new division of First American Residential Group and will combine First American subsidiaries MarketLinx Solutions and Interealty to provide customizable Web-based products for multiple listing services and real estate associations.

“Our strategy is to provide real estate professionals, buyers, sellers and borrowers with a fully integrated experience that includes all of the services necessary to close a real estate transaction,” said Parker S. Kennedy, chairman and CEO of The First American Corp.

MarketLinx and Interealty together serve nearly half a million real estate professionals in North America. The new combined entity will continue to offer both companies’ technologies.

Bryan Foreman of Interealty has been appointed president of the new division and will report to Stephen C. Roney, president and CEO of First American Residential Group.

Thad N. Shows of MarketLinx will assume the position of vice president, residential strategic IT operations and development, with First American Title Insurance Co. Shows will be responsible for the integration of all MLS, residential and title products, reporting to Larry Godec, senior vice president and chief information officer of First American Title.

The First American Corp. (NYSE: FAF) provides data, title insurance, specialty insurance, mortgage information, property information, credit and screening information to the real estate and mortgage industries.
