Instrumentation Laboratory, a worldwide developer, manufacturer and distributor of in vitro diagnostic instruments, has signed a 15-year, 400,000-square-foot lease at 180 Hartwell Road in Bedford, Mass.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
For 30 years, Instrumentation Laboratory has had its base of operations in Lexington at 101 and 113 Hartwell Avenue, with a total of approximately 150,000 square feet. With this lease, the company will have sole control of 180 Hartwell Road, which was vacated by Raytheon last year. The site will be completely renovated for its needs, resulting in a brand-new facility. When completed, it will consist of office space for the company’s worldwide headquarters, as well as laboratory, manufacturing and warehouse space. The company is scheduled to take occupancy in the fall of 2006.
In It To Win It LLC, an affiliate of Vinco Properties, a Boston-based real estate development company, owns the Hartwell Road property, which is situated on 24.1 acres and features 401,663 SF of office/R&D space in six buildings.
Onsite amenities include a 200-person cafeteria, a fitness center with men’s and women’s lockers and showers, flexible meeting and conference space and parking.
