First American Residential Group and Clareity Security have teamed up to provide protection against unauthorized access to First American’s Multiple Listing Services and its MarketLinx Solutions offerings.
The companies yesterday announced a preferred provider and joint marketing agreement for Clareity Security’s SAFEMLS solution. The SAFEMLS solution is now available to all customers of MarketLinx Solutions and Interealty, First American’s MLS divisions.
More than 500,000 real estate professionals in North America use the systems.
Clareity Security’s SAFEMLS solution protects against unauthorized MLS access using a token-sized security device that generates single-use passwords. This type of authentication technology safeguards the networks and databases of thousands of companies worldwide and is effective regardless of access method.
“Safeguarding sensitive data and the rights of its owner has always been our highest priority,” said Stephen C. Roney, president and chief executive officer of First American Residential Group, in a statement.
“MLS systems contain very valuable data and are now becoming gateways to transaction management systems, CRM systems, online contracts and other documents, so it is more important than ever to make sure only authorized users can gain access,” the CEO said.
Roney said his company is encouraging MarketLinx and Interealty customers to use the system. He said that using SAFEMLS, First American would also be able to offer single-login access to its transaction management system and other online products and services.
Clareity Security is a provider of security products, services and education for the real estate industry. Its core offering is SAFEMLSwith Secure Computing, which provides real estate professionals with a system to safeguard sensitive MLS and consumer data.
