Voyager jumps on mapping bandwagon

Voyager, a provider of listing management software and custom MLS servers, among other things, has jumped on the mapping bandwagon, integrating its software with Google Mapping, the company said.

The company has licensed Google’s mapping technology and incorporated it into Voyager’s existing listing management software for Century 21 First Place Realty of Austin, Texas.

The integration is part of the rollout of Generation 7 of Voyager’s listing management software and marketing system now integrated with Google Mapping, video virtual tours, 360 video and support for recreational real estate, the company said.

Real estate companies are increasingly integrating interactive online mapping technology into their products, and consumers and real estate agents are using these visual tools to quickly locate properties and gather detailed home and neighborhood information.

“Thanks to Voyager’s new upgrade, agents don’t have to FedEx or fax maps and driving instructions to home buyers,” says Barry Black, vice president of Voyager.

Black said that once the agent sets up the listing and clicks “save,” the property is plotted on the map. Balloons appear on the map where the property is located, and visitors can click on the balloon to get more details and virtual tours.

Additionally, Voyager has incorporated video virtual tours into the mapping technology for brokers who want to use streaming video to showcase luxury homes. In addition to offering streaming video clips.

“Customization is a big request item right now,” said Bart Wilson, founder and chief marketing officer at Voyager. “Those push pins can be customized, and right now we have several jobs where the brokers want us to drop in the push pins with their franchise logo on the maps. We’ll be done with our first custom satellite map in early November for a broker in Albuquerque.”

Voyager’s RealAdvantage generation 7 listing manager can be integrated into most broker Web sites, the company said.
