The Center for Realtor Technology of the National Association of Realtors has announced release of PolicyPage, an Internet compliance tool that allows Realtors to translate Internet policies into software that can be used to scan Web sites for compliance.
The new tool was developed by CRT to assist NAR members with the challenge of reviewing members’ sites for policy compliance and is intended to automate compliance checking, resulting in accurate and consistent policy application and enforcement. It will enable member-users to be notified of search results by e-mail, which includes a notice of successful compliance or failure, details about causes of failure, and can include references to specific policies. PolicyPage is delivered with NAR model Internet display policies, which can be further added or changed to meet members’ unique needs.
“CRT developed PolicyPage to simplify members’ lives and reduce the burden of making sure members’ sites comply with official policy,” said Mark Lesswing, NAR vice president and director of CRT. “It does this in an automated way, supports the most popular browsers used by our members, and can be customized to local rules. It is able to check for disclosure statements, for copyright statements and display of logos on the member sites.
“Future releases of PolicyPage are planned to include checks for appropriate listing usage and searches for rogue or pirated use of data,” Lesswing said.
