North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. announced the signing of 19 leases totaling 192,690 square feet.
In New Jersey, a lease was signed with Gap Inc, which took 20,688 square feet at the Somerset Shopping Center in Bridgewater. The retailer will open Gap, Baby Gap, Gap Kids and Gap Body stores in its new space, which was formerly occupied by Kids R Us.
At Aviation Plaza, which Levin leases and manages on behalf of SSR Realty Advisors, 8,350 square feet was leased to Southern Smokehouse, which joins restaurateurs Boulder Creek, Appleby’s, Checkers and Starbucks. The 509,000-square-foot center is anchored by Home Depot, Target, ShopRite, Marshalls, Old Navy, AC Moore and Staples.
Wall Towne Center, a 91,0000-square-foot center in Manalapan, has added Rockaway Bedding to the tenant roster, with 3,200 square feet, and Allstate Insurance with 1,600 square feet.
Two leases were signed at St. Georges Crossing in Woodbridge. Pier 1 Imports has taken a 10,314-square-foot endcap with US 1 visibility. The other new tenant is Woodbridge Crossing Self Storage, which Levin placed in 93,742 square feet of unused second-floor space.
Other New Jersey leases include Aaron’s with 9,266 square feet, and The State of New Jersey Department of Labor with 6,494 square feet, both at Fair Ground Plaza in Mt. Holly. The space leased by the State is at the side of the center, well suited to office use. Levin designed an elegant entrance for the offices, which are also provided with parking that was not visible to retail customers.
Levin concluded another lease with the State of New Jersey, for 4,400 square feet at 1001 Spruce Office Center in Ewing Twp. The offices are part of Capitol Plaza Shopping Center, another venue that originally housed a two story EJ Korvette Department Store. Levin converted 70,000 of second-floor space to office use and has now achieved 100 percent occupancy there.
The management and leasing firm also leased 5,400 square feet to Blockbuster at 2500 Route 9 Plaza in Old Bridge; 2,600 square feet to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the QuickChek center in Bayonne; and 1,960 square feet to Laundry Land at Clinton Corner Shopping Center in South Plainfield.
In Pennsylvania, The UPS Store took 1,517 square feet at Liberty Center in Erie, while Gianni Inc. leased 1,250 square feet, and Washington Pet took 7,715 square feet at Capitol Plaza in Bangor, a center Levin has renovated and is currently re-positioning.
In Commack, N.Y., 9 Star Liquors has leased 3,894 square feet at Mayfair Shopping Center. The space was leased to another liquor store for many years, and though that operator failed to maintain its market position, Levin believed that the market would support a first-class operation and sought a stronger tenant in that category. Maggie Moo’s is also joining the tenant mix, with 1,200 square feet of space.
In Patchogue, N.Y., Family Dollar has leased 7,701 square feet. R & Son, an existing bagel store, was moved into 1,358 square feet elsewhere in the structure to accommodate the Family Dollar operation.
And at Hickory Plaza, in Hickory, N.C., Levin leased 2,000 square feet to Amazing Beds.
