Two RE/MAX franchise owners have purchased the RE/MAX France, Southeast region, making it the 54th country in the continuing global expansion of RE/MAX International, the company announced late Monday.
Pierre-André Bornet and Steve Groux, will serve as co-region owners and regional directors of the new region in France. Both have been operating six RE/MAX franchises in Switzerland for some time and will continue involvement with those franchises.
Bornet, 61, holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Geneva, has worked with IBM as a commercial engineer, and has conducted businesses in real estate and insurance. Groux, 37, founded his first pharmaceutical company at the age of 18. Later, with an associate, he created an insurance brokerage business and has been involved in the Swiss branch of RE/MAX for just over one year.
France borders Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and Italy on the East and Spain on the Southwest. The RE/MAX France, Southeast region includes the area from the Mediterranean Sea, North along the eastern border of Italy and Switzerland, to Lyon, then West to a point just West of Clermont-Ferrand then South along a line back to the Mediterranean Sea.
The region includes the cities of Perpignan, Montpellier, Marseille, Toulon and Nice.
The RE/MAX franchise network is a global real estate system operating in 54 countries. The network includes more than 5,400 independently owned offices and 100,000 member sales associates.
