County recorders will be able to automatically index documents with a new offering from Aptitude Solutions, a division of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Fidelity National Financial, and Mentis Technology.
Mentis Technology’s aiINDEX application has been incorporated within Aptitude’s OnCore recording software system. This makes it possible for county recorders to use Optical Character Resolution to automatically index documents.
The technology will also help recorders remove sensitive information such as Social Security numbers from their public image libraries.
The automated indexing and redacting technology can help keep recorders in compliance with legislative mandates requiring that certain specific personal information be left out of public documents. For example, a 2004 Florida statute mandates that by January 2006 county recorders must keep Social Security numbers confidential, the companies said.
“This was an ideal opportunity for us to provide our automated indexing and redacting technology to county government, helping these busy offices improve their efficiencies,” said Ann Kirkbride, director of national accounts at Mentis Technology Solutions.
Fidelity National is a Fortune 500 provider of products, services and technology to the financial and real estate industries. Mentis Technology develops image and character analysis and identification technology.
