Stephanie Agresta began her New York City Internet career in 1997 at iVillage, managing the Shopping Channel and relationships with premier online merchants such as Amazon.com and J.Crew.
From there, Agresta went on to work for a variety of businesses managing affiliate programs before moving to the Jersey shore in 2003. She then began marketing for a local real estate company, Foxtons. She recently founded Agresta & Associates, a consultancy in affiliate marketing, interactive strategy and business development.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Minnesota.

What are your current or childhood nicknames?
Stephanucci (It’s an Italian thing).
Which daily newspaper do you read and which section of the newspaper do you read first?
The New York Times. Monday through Friday it’s the business pages, of course. But on Sunday, I go right to the Style section.
What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever packed in a suitcase?
Fifty “I heart NY” t-shirts to bring to a wedding in Malta.
What kind of music do you listen to?
Lots of chick musicians like Alanis Morrisette, Madonna, Dido, Natalie Merchant, Sheryl Crow, and Indigo Girls; plus David Gray, Coldplay, Moby, Eminem, U2 and of course…BRUCE!
What style of home do you live in and when did you buy it?
I left NYC in 2003 and moved to a one-bedroom condo on the beach in New Jersey. It has beautiful views of the VerrazanoBridge and Empire State Building – while snuggled in the best part of Monmouth County.
Where did you spend your last vacation?
The Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo.
What professional accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?
Starting my own business.
What personal accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?
Finishing my master’s degree.
How many e-mail addresses do you have?
Too many to count.
What worries keep you awake at night?
The usual ones that keep most small-business owners awake at night – but I do my best to enjoy the process, learn as I go and sleep well.
What lesson did you learn in the last year?
Too many to count.
What is your favorite technology device or software application?
My new, schweet Dell laptop; plus I live for learning new Excel tricks.
What is your opinion of Inman News?
The content is always relevant and on the cutting-edge.
What was the best gift you ever received from or gave to someone else?
A PowerPoint presentation/bridesmaid speech I gave at my best friend’s wedding; got a standing ovation and the bride and groom were so grateful.
What was your top New Year’s resolution and have you kept it so far?
Yes, I’ve kept it. It was to get involved in the community through volunteering; I’ve been a “Big Sister” for Big Brothers, Big Sisters for over six months now, and I love it. Give to receive!
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Now that I work for myself – I’m both.
What is your worst vice or bad habit?
Obsessively watching episodes of “The Sopranos.“
