With just four days left before Inman News’ Real Estate Connect conference in New York City kicks off, industry leaders are set to discuss new waves in online lead generation, paperless transactions and digital real estate content.
The event will take place Jan. 9-11 at the historic Waldorf Astoria in New York. It is a separate and unique conference from Inman News’ annual Real Estate Connect confab in San Francisco, set for July 27-29.

The New York event will emphasize online lead generation, while the San Francisco event will focus on conversion: converting old business models, converting leads to customers and converting legacy to lean.
The New York speaker lineup includes HouseValues CEO Ian Morris, Cendant Real Estate CEO Alex Perriello, ZipRealty CEO Eric Danziger, Stanford law professor Lawrence Lessig, Craigslist founder Craig Newmark, and James Surowiecki, author and financial columnist for the New Yorker.
The confab kicks off Sunday afternoon with a “Meet the Real Estate Innovators” session in which attendees can meet, greet and challenge the real estate technologists who are innovating. Companies will have demos of the newest technologies, business models and services.
Following the first session, Surowiecki will give a keynote address. Attendees then will experience “speed networking” firsthand. Like speed dating, the networking event instantly connects real estate people with partners, competitors and colleagues they’ve never met.
Monday morning’s sessions include a panel discussion about the ever-unique New York real estate scene. Hear insights from New York heavyweights Pamela Liebman, president and CEO of The Corcoran Group; Dottie Herman, president and CEO of Prudential Douglas Elliman; Steve Spinola, president of the Real Estate Board of New York; and David Michonski, CEO of Coldwell Banker Hunt Kennedy.
Throughout Monday and Tuesday, cutting-edge issue panels will explore online lead generation in depth, giving attendees answers and ideas on how to effectively capture customers on the Web. The event also focuses on progress in making the real estate transaction paperless, and will explore the latest innovations in digital real estate content, how it is impacting the way real estate is marketed and how savvy brokers and agents are using it.
