Brad Dick is senior vice president of ZODAS, a leading document protection and paperless transaction system for the real estate industry.
Over the past four years, ZODAS has grown from a system developed specifically for one top 50 real estate brokerage into the system most used among Century 21 brokerages and the most widely used in the Midwest. The company has worked to set itself apart by being designed not only for real estate brokers but also by real estate brokers.

What are your current or childhood nicknames?
The only nickname that I have is Brad, which is short for Bradley. Not very exciting, I know.
Which daily newspaper do you read and which section of the newspaper do you read first?
Indianapolis Star, and I always read the cover sections first.
What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever packed in a suitcase?
A game that included a buzzer. As the bag came through the baggage claim the buzzer was going off and you should have seen the looks on people’s faces. Luckily, it was pre-9/11 or I would probably still be talking with security.
What style of home do you live in and when did you buy it?
I live in an old bungalow I bought last year, which I spend a lot of my free time fixing up.
Where did you spend your last vacation?
My last vacation was spent in Florida and ended in a Marriott’s ballroom in downtown Orlando as the eye of hurricane Charley went overhead. Being from Indiana I didn’t expect to ever be in a hurricane.
What professional accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?
Being involved with a company that has grown so much over the last few years and helped so many brokers be more profitable and reduce their liability so much.
What personal accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?
Setting out to run a marathon and following through. It was earlier this fall and I did it, but I’m still hurting from it.
How many e-mail addresses do you have?
Two.
What worries keep you awake at night?
I always try to follow the philosophy that only fools bring their problems with them to bed.
What lesson did you learn in the last year?
What customers truly appreciate more than a great system is a supporting staff that truly cares about helping them solve their problems.
What is your opinion of Inman News?
A great source for insights into the real estate industry.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Morning person, which often leads to me suggesting meeting times that are way too early for many people in the real estate industry.
