ForSaleByOwner.com today launched an alliance with software developer Big Hammer to create content for an instructional CD-ROM designed to guide Big Hammer consumers through the process of buying or selling property without a broker.
Big Hammer’s “The Do-It-Yourselfer’s Guide To Real Estate” software program includes detailed instructions and information for every step of the home-buying process, from pricing the property correctly and preparing the home to sell, to closing the deal. The software packet also includes information on financing options, as well as a comprehensive glossary of real estate terms.
Big Hammer’s software products are sold through multiple national retail outlets, as well as online through BigHammer.com.
“Since Big Hammer’s customers already embrace the notion of independence, partnering with the company was natural,” said Colby Sambrotto, COO of ForSaleByOwner.com. “These savvy consumers already want to save money and take charge of projects around the home, and now we’ll be able to help them sell their homes the same easy way.”
Furthering the alliance, ForSaleByOwner.com will also power the real estate section of Big Hammer’s Web site, which lists properties for sale without a broker nationwide.
ForSaleByOwner.com, which charges a low flat fee for visitors to sell homes on its site, will offer consumers who purchase the software a free listing on Big Hammer’s Web site, along with a discounted listing on ForSaleByOwner.com.
ForSaleByOwner.com is an online marketplace that offers aggregated information, resources and research to those who wish to sell their homes without a broker. The company charges home sellers a flat fee that varies by location and service and in return provides sellers a national forum to advertise their properties. The comprehensive Web site also provides real estate consumers with a menu of links to affiliated services companies and “how-to” information about mortgages, neighborhoods, credit reports, home buyer and seller check lists and school reports.
