RE/MAX International chief executive officer and industry leader Daryl “Jes” Jesperson will retire on Oct. 1, 2005. Jesperson joined RE/MAX in 1976 and has served in every capacity in the organization during his tenure. In addition to his executive, managerial and administrative contributions and expertise, he frequently served as official spokesperson for the network to news and industry media. Jesperson’s wife, Nan, who joined the organization in 1977, will also retire from her position as vice president of RE/MAX Relocation Inc.
Margaret Kelly, who has served as president of the organization since April of 2002, has been named co-chief executive officer. Vinnie Tracey, previously executive vice president of franchising has been named RE/MAX president. Both will assume their new duties immediately.
“Every organization should be so fortunate as to have someone like Jes,” said Dave Liniger, RE/MAX chairman and co-founder. “He has played so many roles in the development and success of RE/MAX over the past 30 years, it would be impossible to describe how valuable he is to our network. But, just as important to me, is the fact that he is a close and personal friend and his retirement from the daily tasks here will never change that. We just hope he and Nan enjoy the remaining year with us, and many many years of health and happiness in retirement. They will be missed every day.”
Margaret Kelly will work closely with Jesperson until his retirement and will assume the duties of CEO on Oct. 1, 2005. She joined RE/MAX in 1987 as a financial analyst, led the Colorado region as regional director and moved into the officer ranks of the international operation in 1993 as vice president and zone director. She was made a senior vice president in 1997 and president in 2002.
