SAN FRANCISCO–Online real estate company HomeGain has partnered with Overture in a recently launched Local Sponsored Search Listing program. Under the agreement, HomeGain will provide Overture’s local search program with detailed information for local real estate agents nationwide.
HomeGain matches online home buyers and sellers with real estate agents. The company made the announcement today at Inman News‘ Real Estate Connect 2004 real estate and technology conference.
Overture, owned by Yahoo!, is one of the top search engines on the Web. The company’s pay-per-click advertising service is widely used among real estate agents nationwide.
In June, Overture announced the launch of Local Sponsored Search Listings, a service that provides online consumers with local business information. Beginning Aug. 1, HomeGain will deliver content from select local real estate agents to appear in Overture’s search listings. These listings will appear on Yahoo!, MSN, Altavista and eventually all search engines in which Overture syndicates listings.

Research from The Kelsey Group indicates that more than 25 percent of commercial searches performed by online buyers are local. Experts expect that figure to grow over time.
“This partnership will allow HomeGain members to be one of the first agents consumers discover when they are searching online for real estate services,” said Andrew Coleman, SVP of corporate development for HomeGain.
HomeGain CEO Bradley Inman is also the founder and publisher of Inman News.
