Real estate appraisal network expands

Valocity, a national appraisal network that was formerly known as Appraisal Forum, has expanded to offer coverage in all 50 states and in every metropolitan statistical area, company officials announced today.

Founded in 1998 and based in Memphis, Tenn., Valocity has experienced record growth. The company employs 15 “appraiser liaisons” who work to recruit appraisers nationwide. The company currently has about 80 employees, including staff appraisers and a network of more than 2,300 independent contract appraisers. By recruiting appraisers in all of the major metropolitan areas, Valocity provides coverage in locations where more than 90 percent of all loans are originated.

Bethany Kaaz, co-founder and chief operating officer, said, “We are pleased that in a softening market we continue to grow and expand our network of appraisers and lenders nationwide. By continuing this expansion, we can better meet the needs of appraisers and lending institutions nationwide.”

Valocity’s technology, Instant Access, streamlines the appraisal process from initial request to final valuation. Instant Access is a Web-based appraisal process management system that allows appraisers and lenders to order, track and receive residential property information and valuation reports. The company provides free customer service for technical support, appraisal advice and pertinent public data that enables appraisers to expedite orders with ease and precision.

Damon Jennings, an independent appraiser based in Columbia, S.C., said, “I have worked for a lot of other companies, but the technology and vendor support offered by Valocity transcends traditional methods.”
