Corcoran buys Florida real estate brokerage

NRT subsidiary The Corcoran Group today announced it has acquired McCann Coyner Clarke Real Estate Inc. in Palm Beach, Fla.

McCann Coyner Clarke’s 45 sales associates in its two Palm Beach offices will now do business under the banner of The Corcoran Group.

Pamela Liebman, president and chief executive officer for The Corcoran Group, will continue in her role overseeing operations in New York City, the Hamptons and Palm Beach. McCann Coyner Clarke’s owners, James McCann, Laura Coyner and Rosalind Clarke, will continue in senior sales roles for The Corcoran Group in Palm Beach. They will report to Wade Shavell, regional vice president of The Corcoran Group in Palm Beach.

McCann Coyner Clarke was founded in 1993 and rapidly became a leader the Palm Beach residential real estate market. The company was responsible for handling the sale of the most expensive residential property ever in Palm Beach, according to a press statement. Similarly, The Corcoran Group accounted for the largest residential sale in the history of New York City.

With this merger, The Corcoran Group now has more than 2,150 sales associates and employees operating in three offices in Palm Beach, 29 offices in New York City, and 13 offices in the Hamptons, Shelter Island and the North Fork on Long Island. In 2003, the combined organization accounted for more than $6.8 billion in total closed sales volume.
