Richard Mendenhall will speak at Real Estate Connect July 28-30 in San Francisco.
Missouri Realtor Richard Mendenhall was president of the National Association of Realtor on Sept. 11, 2001, one of the most fateful days in U.S. history. When terrorists attacked the World Trade Center and U.S. Pentagon, NAR swung into action and Mendenhall led the organization to establish the Realtors Housing Relief Fund, which collected and distributed donations of $8.5 million to help 1,200 victims and their families pay their housing costs in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.
Mendenhall is now senior partner of WMWorks, a new real estate consultancy he opened this year with real estate industry veteran Dick Ward. Mendenhall also owns two residential and commercial real estate offices in central Missouri with 170 agents and staff. He has been a Realtor since 1974, and is the fifth generation of his family in real estate since 1894.
Despite that background, Mendenhall isn’t all seriousness all the time. He also enjoys a good meal, fishing and all kinds of music–and he has six e-mail addresses. Here are his responses to an Inman News profile questionnaire:
