Kaiser Permanente has renewed leases for approximately 113,000 square feet of space at Grosvenor’s WesTech Business Park in north Silver Spring, Md.
Kaiser, which leases a total of 155,000 square feet at WesTech for back-office operations, signed extensions of three leases for 38,338 square feet in the Allegany Building, 38,101 square feet in the Garrett II Building and 36,670 square feet in the Garrett III Building.
Kathy Keller and Dave Palank of Trammell Crow represented Grosvenor in the lease transactions. Kaiser Permanente was represented by Peter Hill-Byrne and Greg Klein then of Grubb & Ellis and now with Vanguard Realty.
Grosvenor SVP Andrew Galbraith said WesTech is located at the “nexus of a growing science and research community” that includes a planned center for science and technology, a new Food and Drug Administration campus and an Army research laboratory in Adelphi.
The 250-acre WesTech Business Park has more than 500,000 square feet of existing Class A office and flex space and nearly 700,000 square feet of remaining development capacity.
Other tenants include Sentori, American Bank, Children’s Hospital Center, SoftMed Systems, Nextel, MedStar Health, the U.S. General Services Administration, and SGI.
