Long-term mortgage interest rates were slightly higher Monday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield inched higher to 3.77 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average rose to 5.09 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate rose slightly to 4.41 percent. The 1-year adjustable increased to 2.95 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield remained at 4.71 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 137.19 points, or 1.34 percent, finishing at 10,102.89. The Nasdaq was down 45.53 points, or 2.29 percent, closing at 1,939.2.
