Long-term mortgage interest rates were higher Thursday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield slid to 4.03 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average increased to 5.26 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate was up at 4.55 percent. The 1-year adjustable remained at 3.22 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield dipped to 4.89 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 7.26 points, or 0.07 percent, finishing at 10,664.73. The Nasdaq was down 30.51 points, or 1.47 percent, closing at 2,045.96.
