Google may be considering going beyond its current airline search and booking services to provide a pricing system that lets consumers click through to the airline, the Irish Independent reports, citing comments by Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary.
Google downplayed the report, and an analyst who follows the company thinks the search engine giant would not want to compete against big advertisers like Priceline and Expedia, Marketwatch’s Benjamin Pimentel blogs.
That could be the reason Google pulled the plug on previous attempts to deliver real estate listings data and mortgage price quotes to consumers.
