Completed foreclosures in April were down 16 percent from a year earlier, according to analytics firm CoreLogic.
There were about 52,000 completed foreclosures in April, the same number as the previous month, CoreLogic reported. That rate was still well over twice the average monthly rate of 21,000 that was recorded from 2000 to 2006, according to CoreLogic data.
The number of homes in some stage of foreclosure decreased 24 percent on an annual basis, dropping from 1.5 million in April 2012 to 1.1 million in April of this year, according to CoreLogic. Source: CoreLogic
