Real estate search site ForSaleByOwner.com has launched a free mobile application for the Apple iPhone, the site announced today.
The app allows consumers to find listings near their current location or near an address they type in. Advanced search options allow users to filter by price range; number of bedrooms and bathrooms; and property type, which includes single-family homes, condominiums or townhomes, mobile homes, land, commercial properties, timeshares, rentals, vacation homes and new homes, among others. ForSaleByOwner.com has about 32,000 listings nationally.
Users can view results in either map or list view, and sort listings by factors such as asking price, distance from current location, number of bedrooms or bathrooms, city, property type, date activated, or whether the property has an upcoming open house. Results are color-coded: yellow for those listings under contract, blue for new listings, green for price-reduced listings, and purple for open houses.
Listing features include photos, a property description, and details such as price, year built, square footage, garage size, lot size, and distance from current location. From the listing, users can obtain driving directions, share the listing via Twitter, Facebook or email, and call or email the seller.
Users can also save their favorite listings and searches and see a history of listings they have previously viewed.
