Realtor.com operator Move Inc. has updated its iPhone app, allowing users to find homes by drawing a search area directly on a map on the smart phone’s touchscreen.
In addition to the "area highlighter" feature, the new Realtor.com iPhone app offers a "location browser," designed to help users who aren’t sure of a city’s or neighborhood’s name, the company said today.
Other new features are designed to take advantage of the iPhone’s latest operating system, iOS 4.0. They include a "share listing by SMS" feature enables consumers to share their favorite listings by tapping a button to send a text message.
A calendar integration feature lets users add scheduled open houses to their calendars, along with the listing agent’s contact information.
Move says the Realtor.com iPhone app has been downloaded more than 1.5 million times since its launch in January.
The company claims visits, e-mail leads and phone calls from the Realtor.com iPhone app increased by more than 60 percent from the first quarter to the second quarter of 2010.
Compatible with iPhone OS 3.0 or higher, the iPad, and the iPod Touch, the Realtor.com Real Estate Search iPhone app is a free download at the Apple iTunes store, where it can be found in the "Lifestyle" category.
