About Mark
Mark is chief economist for CoreLogic, America’s largest provider of advanced property and ownership information, analytics and services, where he leads the mortgage risk analytics and economics team. He is responsible for developing the collateral risk, valuation cascade and house price index models, as well as the economic analysis and monitoring of real estate and mortgage market trends.
Mark’s research interests include real estate economics, econometrics and data mining. He has published research on spatial econometrics in the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and Geographic Information Sciences, is published in the book, “Advances in Spatial Econometrics,” and is a patent author. He is regularly quoted in national news outlets and trade publications.
Prior to CoreLogic, he worked for Fannie Mae where he developed property valuation models designed as part of collateral assessment applications used in mortgage origination, quality control and loss mitigation.
He graduated from the University of Maryland with a master’s degree and a doctorate in agricultural and resource economics. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Swarthmore College.
