Regarding national sites, I love Rudy and wanted to contribute.. but pulled back for several reasons, some of which you mentioned. My time is better spent improving my local blogs, taking more pictures, and doing more writing. I'm crawling up from the bottom so don't need to be diluted. • It is true the public does

It is true the public does not understand what agents actually do (perform). The internet is moving in on our territory, but in the long run, only the strong [good] will survive. That's a good thing. There will be fewer agents in the future; not every agent wants to write/work on their internet presence/blog. The days of hanging a sign and not much extra effort but living in the same town all your life are almost over (not that familiarity with your area is not very important). As an agent licensed for approximately 1 1/2 years now, do I feel my commission should equal that of a seasoned agent? No, not unless I have a mentor, and those are hard to come by in my area, believe me. That's a subject for another day. Susie Blackmon http://www.BuckingtheRealEstateTrend.com

Another excellent read Kris. You are so 'on it' about the obligatory desk/office in a big building that truly is basically a key drop off at this point. I'm in a very small town community and love the lifestyle, but holy cow, I don't know where many realtors here get all the sand to keep their heads covered. Times they are a'changin, and I love it! You are a 'must read' for me. Susie Blackmon http://www.BuckingtheRealEstateTrend.com
