Carl wrote: "You should be aware that the 80 MLS' mentioned in the survey represent the majority of MLS participants in the country." How do you know this to be true? I'm not doubting you, I'm just looking for a source to back up this statement. I'm assuming this is the same Carl DeMusz that's the CEO of the Northern Ohio Regional MLS. If so, I suspect you have access to much more detailed results than we are provided in this article. So the 80 or so top MLS' responded. My question is sill *who* is are the people that submitted their opinions? I belong to a very large MLS. There is no one person that could speak for the majority of the members. If it is MLS CEOs that responded, wouldn't it be more accurate to say "CEOs of MLS' feel these are the most important issues...."? If it is just MLS executives responding, and even if it is 80 of the largest MLS' responding, it's still just the opinion of 80 people out of 1.25 million or so MLS users. It would be interesting to see how (or if) MLS members and users opinions line up with MLS executive's opinions. Jay Thompson Broker / Owner Thompson's Realty Blog: www.PhoenixRealEstateGuy.com .

A response rate of 80 out of 700 is pretty sad. It would be interesting to know who was surveyed. Was it MLS associations? Survey the MLS users. This user would have said data integrity is the top issue. It never ceases to amaze me how bad some of the data in the MLS is. I find it hard to believe any investor with just a modicum of knowledge would conduct a search as generalized as "houses for sale". Most investors (and "regular" home buyers) are bright enough to fine tune such a search. Jay Thompson Broker / Owner Thompson's Realty Blog: www.PhoenixRealEstateGuy.com .
